On Tuesday 24th September 2013, Icarus Theatre Collective will perform ‘Othello’ at it’s 1st Irish venue! We’re very excited to come back to Millennium Forum in Derry, Northern Ireland, having previously toured ‘Hamlet’ ( November 2010), ‘Macbeth’ (October 2011) & ‘Romeo & Juliet’ (November 2012) to this fabulous venue.

Just recently it was announced that The Millennium Forum has been shortlisted for a prestigious industry award – My Theatre Matters! UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre Award. The cityside venue is the only theatre in the North West to be shortlisted for this award. Over 225 arts venues are asking the public to vote for them in the inaugural My Theatre Matters! Most Welcoming Theatre Award in association with Classic FM, which will be announced at the annual UK Theatre Awards ceremony in London’s historic Guildhall on Sunday 20 October 2013. Online voting for this new public Award is now open via the Classic FM website –www.classicfm.com/theatre – and closes at the end of September. So get voting now!

The Millennium Forum opened in August 2001 following many years of campaigning that began as far back as the 1960s! The opening of the Millennium Forum marked a new beginning in the city’s cultural life. The £14m project brought to fruition the city’s ambition to have a world class purpose-built 1020-seat theatre, conference centre and community facility for everyone.**

The Forum is the 13th theatre to be built in the City since the first purpose built theatre in the Shipquay in 1774 and follows a long line of historical and unique facilities. It’s one of Ireland’s largest purpose-built theatres! With a stunning entrance and marble floored Italian-style Piazza, facilitating not only theatre from all over the world but many private events as well. Check out the venue’s website for more info (http://www.millenniumforum.co.uk)**

Situated in the heart of the City Centre, nestled between Foyleside & Richmond Shopping Centres, the theatre is in prime position with local transport & car parking nearby the theatre.
